We are so excited to now unveil our completely revamped website at http://koffeehouse.com/ courtesy of our friends at PINK PRESS STUDIO (http://pinkpressstudio.com/). We hope you’ll enjoy all the new features and content including the Koffeehouse “Featured Artist of the Week,” a weekly spotlight and interview with our favorite Koffeehouse artists. First up is our candid interview with Katharine McPhee, who also happens to be performing at Koffeehouse’s 4th Annual “Evening of independence” concert on August 7. Each Tuesday, we’ll feature a new Koffeehouse favorite artist and post our new weekly newsletter highlighting your best bets for live music in Los Angeles. We welcome all of your feedback on our new website!
If there’s one Koffeehouse concert you can’t miss, it is our annual signature concert at the Ford Amphitheatre, this year to benefit MusiCares. In fact, we’re less than two weeks away from our 4th Annual “Evening of Independence” concert on August 7 at the Ford with Jon McLaughlin, Katharine McPhee, Sixpence None the Richer, honeyhoney, The Daylights and more! Time is moving fast and so are the ticket sales. Buy your tickets through http://www.koffeehouse.com/ before we sell out!
July 28 – Laura Marling @ El Rey Theatre, Guggenheim Grotto w/ Brie Stoner @ Hotel Café
We can all stand to wind down mid-week, which is why this Wednesday’s lineup is just what you’re looking for. Check out the uber-talented Laura Marling w/ Dylan LeBlanc at El Rey Theatre. Koffeehouse teamed up with Goldenvoice to promote the show and do a ticket contest (congrats to the winners). Some tickets are still available at www.theelrey.com. If you can’t catch Laura, head to Hotel Café for a sure-bet night with performances by Guggenheim Grotto and Brie Stoner.
July 29 – Rachael Cantu @ Hotel Café
What can we say? The Hotel Café lineup is on fire this week. This Thursday, catch another great artist, our friend Rachael Cantu, who has toured with the likes of B.B. King, Pat Benetar, Tegan & Sara and more.
July 30 – Tyrone Wells w/ Kathryn Ostenberg, Army of Me and Debi Nova @ Hotel Café, Andy Grammer @ El Rey
This Friday concludes Tyrone’s four-night July stay at Hotel Café. Don’t miss our good friend bring down the house with Kathryn Ostenberg (8PM) and Debi Nova (10PM). Get your tickets now at www.hotelcafe.com. If tickets are sold out for Tyrone, come early and try to get tickets at the door or buy tickets at the door for Kathryn Ostenberg or Debi Nova. If you happen to miss out on Tyrone tickets, you’ll have a foot tappin’, head boppin’, feel good time at El Rey Theatre when Andy Grammer performs with Loathing Mateo and Elizaveta.
July 31 – Trevor Hall & Marc B @ The Mint, Kim Divine @ Room 5, Pat Benatar & REO @ The Greek
Change of venue for Trevor Hall and Marc B fans! Both shows this week (July 31 and Aug 1) will be at The Mint. These easy, breezy guys were originally slated at Dakota Lounge, which is in repair from some fire damage a few weeks back. Doesn’t matter where they play – we just love it when this duo tag teams the LA music scene. If it’s sold out at The Mint, try singer/songwriter Kim Divine at Room 5 or have an 80’s flashback with Pat Benetar, REO Speedwagon, Neil Giraldo and Edwin McCain at The Greek. P.S. Get well soon, Dakota!
August 1 – Trevor Hall @ The Mint, Reuben Studdard & Clay Aiken @ Club Nokia
If you didn’t see ‘em night 1 at The Mint, you’re in luck, because Trevor Hall is at it again tonight — this time, an early ALL-AGES show!!!! But, if you already caught them on Saturday, you have options because Season 2 Idol competitors and top-runners, Reuben Studdard and Clay Aiken play at Club Nokia.
On the Horizon…
