We can all stand to wind down mid-week, which is why this Wednesday’s lineup is just what you’re looking for. Check out the uber-talented Laura Marling w/ Dylan LeBlanc at El Rey Theatre. Koffeehouse teamed up with Goldenvoice to promote the show and do a ticket contest (congrats to the winners). Some tickets are still available at www.theelrey.com. If you can’t catch Laura, head to Hotel Café for a sure-bet night with performances by Guggenheim Grotto and Brie Stoner.

What can we say? The Hotel Café lineup is on fire this week. This Thursday, catch another great artist, our friend Rachael Cantu, who has toured with the likes of B.B. King, Pat Benetar, Tegan & Sara and more.
July 30 – Tyrone Wells w/ Kathryn Ostenberg, Army of Me and Debi Nova @ Hotel Café, Andy Grammer @ El Rey
This Friday concludes Tyrone’s four-night July stay at Hotel Café. Don’t miss our good friend bring down the house with Kathryn Ostenberg (8PM) and Debi Nova (10PM). Change of venue for Trevor Hall and Marc B fans! Both shows this week (July 31 and Aug 1) will be at The Mint. These easy, breezy guys were originally slated at Dakota Lounge, which is in repair from some fire damage a few weeks back. Doesn’t matter where they play – we just love it when this duo tag teams the LA music scene. If it’s sold out at The Mint, try singer/songwriter Kim Divine at Room 5 or have an 80’s flashback with Pat Benetar, REO Speedwagon, Neil Giraldo and Edwin McCain at The Greek. P.S. Koffeehouse / BMI Session at Harvelle’s with Jessie Payo, Cliff Beach, Terry Ilous & Lost In Los Angeles
Join us on August 5, 2010 when Koffeehouse and BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) present their monthly “Koffeehouse Sessions” showcase at Harvelle’s Santa Monica on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Featured artists include Cliff Beach at 8:30PM, Jessie Payo (formerly, Jupiter Rising) at 9:30PM, Terry Ilous of XYZ at 10:30PM and Lost in Los Angeles at 11:30PM. From 6:30PM-8:00PM, Koffeehouse will have its JAM Session featuring some of LA’s most talented artists play 2 song each including Amani Starnes, Alice Wallace, Tiff Jimber, Michael Lowma, Liza Dubrow, Raspin Stuwart, Yael Meyer, Kristi Jo, and Luis Narino. At 8PM, we’re going to feature the two finalists in the “Koffeehouse Race to the Ford” Contest in association with the LA Musician’s Institute. The Gaston Project and Elaine Faye are the two Musician’s Institute finalists who will compete for your votes to join the lineup for Koffeehouse’s 4th Annual Evening of Independence Concert on August 7!!! Doors at 6PM. $10; or $7 with a copy of the event flyer (you can show it at the door on your phone/PDA). The showcase will be hosted by the lovely and talented Anastasia Roark!
4th Annual “Evening of Independence” at the Ford Amphitheatre (Saturday, August 7)
As most of you know, we have another incredible lineup for our 4th Annual “Evening of Independence” music concert to benefit MusiCares (grammy.org/musicares) at the Ford Amphitheatre on Saturday, August 7, 2010. The music festival will feature the most talented emerging artists and special guests, including Verve Forecast/Universal recording artist KATHARINE MCPHEE, Island Def Jam recording artist JON MCLAUGHLIN, Ironworks recording artist HONEYHONEY and two-time GRAMMY-nominated SIXPENCE NONE THE RICHER (reuniting for their first U.S. show in six years)! The early show in front of the amphitheatre out in Edison Plaza includes Terra Naomi, Shawn Hlookoff, Freddy & Francine, Jayme Dee and others. 100% of the net proceeds benefit MusiCares.
