August 5 – Koffeehouse / BMI Sessions at Harvelle’s with Jessie Payo, Cliff Beach, Terry Ilous & Lost In Los Angeles

Join us for the monthly presentation of “Koffeehouse Sessions” produced by Koffeehouse and BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) at Harvelle’s Santa Monica on Thursday, August 5, 2010. Featured artists include Cliff Beach at 8:30PM, Jessie Payo (formerly, Jupiter Rising) at 9:30PM, and Terry Ilous of XYZ at 10:30PM and Lost in Los Angeles at 11:30PM.

But wait, there’s more! From 6:30PM-8:00PM, catch the Koffeehouse and BMI JAM Session featuring some of LA’s most talented artists who’ll play a couple song each including Jayk Burcyk, Amani Starnes, Alice Wallace, Tiff Jimber, Michael Lowman, Liza Dubrow, Raspin Stuwart, Yael Meyer, Kristi Jo, and Luis Narino. At 8PM, see two finalists, The Gaston Project and Elaine Faye, go head-to-head in the “Koffeehouse Race to the Ford” Contest who will compete for a chance to shine in the lineup for Koffeehouse’s 4th Annual Evening of Independence concert on August 7!!!

Doors at 6PM. $10; or $7 with a copy of the event flyer (you can show it at the door on your phone/PDA). The lovely and talented Anastasia Roark will host the showcase!

August 7 – Koffeehouse’s 4th Annual “Evening of Independence” concert benefiting MusiCares – This Saturday, August 7th @ Ford Amphitheatre!

What’s better than great music at an open-air amphitheatre and a picnic with family and friends? Pretty much nothing, especially when you’re with the Koffeehouse gang! We hope you’re joining us for the 4th Annual “Evening of Independence” concert on August 7 at the Ford with Jon McLaughlin, Katharine McPhee, Sixpence None the Richer, honeyhoney, The Daylights and more! Featured pre-show artists include Terra Naomi, Freddy & Francine, Jayme Dee and Shawn Hlookoff. Koffeehouse and Apple are partnering up to showcase three of our favorite singer songwriters at the Apple Retail Store in August at the Third Street Promenade including Jess Furman on August 18, Sara Haze on August 25 and Caitlin Crosby on August 31. All showcases are FREE and start at 7:30PM!
